Panulirus argus

Nicaragua has an outstanding reputation for whole frozen lobster and is fast becoming a major supplier to Asian markets.

Nicaragua is one of the largest lobster producers in the Caribbean and has become famous by its major remote Corn Island-based facilities.

The fishery includes industrial large freezer vessels for remote fishing and significant production from artisanal shore-based fishermen.

Increasingly, artisanal fishermen are now delivering lobsters in premium live conditions to the plants, providing options to produce as whole cooked, whole raw or live.

100% of all Nicaraguan Lobsters sold by Wild Oceans are wild-caught.

Sustainability & Management

Nicaragua fisheries have completed their lobster Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) and is now working towards MSC certification.
