The approximate catch of the species is between 30,000 & 40,000mt annually and is the largest commercially produced spiny lobster in the world. As a warm water species, it is also one of the fastest growing and reaches maturity at just 2-3yrs old.

Florida accounts for around 2500-3000mt annually, of which 50-60% is now directed as LIVE to Asian Markets. The Florida spiny lobster fishery is a limited entry fishery and is fully managed by the US Government. It is well regarded for its management and conservation practices and considered stable.

KC Brand is the most well-known of US brands sold into Asia and has the highest reputation in discerning markets such as Taiwan, Japan, China and Australia. All product is processed under a HACCP based QA system (Audited regularly by 3rd Party for full FDA compliance).
